Health Action
Health Action
Influencing the inclusion of significant Reproductive Health budget in AOP and financing of health projects by devolved funding structures. This is a 6 month project that aims at improving reproductive health service delivery and accessibility. The project focuses on maternal and infant health, with the overall objective being to contribute to the reduction of maternal and infant mortality rates in Kenya.
The specific objective of the action is to influence key health policy decision makers in Kilifi District to prioritise issues affecting maternal and neonatal health by increasing budget allocations to interventions that reverse the negative trends for Millennium Development Goals (MDG) 4 and 5 in the 2012/13 district health budget. It is implemented in partnership with family health options Kenya ? Mombasa branch, moving the goal posts ? Kilifi, and Coast women in development.
The project envisages an increased budget allocation to maternal health issues in the 2012/13 Kilifi budget, an informed and engaged citizenry that has more information on maternal health issues in Kilifi, and an established network of NSAs advocating for provision of improved maternal and child health services in Kilifi. visit www.healthy-action.org for further information.
